About Madison
Madison Folks is an art historian and fine art consultant specializing in Japanese woodblock prints from the 17th century through today. Madison earned her BA in Art History with a minor in East Asian Studies from Oberlin College and graduated with dual Master's degrees in Art History and Information Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Madison formerly served as gallery director for New York-based Ronin Gallery. In this role, she was in charge of gallery scholarship, including research and writing of the gallery’s exhibition and educational content, print cataloging, and collection organization and management. With more than 10 years experience in both academic and commercial settings, she approaches each print with academic rigor, market perspective, keen connoisseurship, and rich historical context.
